COURSE DESCRIPTION

Mundipharma is a member of a global network of companies which are engaged in research, development, production and marketing of prescription medicines and consumer healthcare products. The new program is designed to further the understanding of pain management in Australia for people with dementia. The program follows the guidelines set out by the Australian Pain Society (APS).

LEARNING OUTCOMES

• To improve the ability to identify and assess pain in residents with dementia
• To understand the role of support staff and the family in pain management
• To recognise the value of an analgesic trial in non-verbal communicative residents suspected to be experiencing pain
