COURSE DESCRIPTION

Radicalisation can happen in any setting—including the aged care sector. Radicalisation might not be the first thing that comes to mind in the aged care setting, but as the sector becomes more diverse and complex, awareness about radicalisation is becoming increasingly important.

When you have finished, you will be able to:

• Explain what radicalisation is and how it can present in aged care settings
• Explain what terrorism is
• Explain counter-terrorism strategies and what they aim to achieve
• Describe who is most susceptible to radicalisation in residential aged care
• Recognise the signs of radicalisation in residents in aged care settings
• Take action if you suspect someone is being radicalised
